Salt

Salt

On the coast, salt is everywhere. It dries as a pale film on stone, on rails, on leaves. In the morning, you can see it before you taste it.

The plants that stay at the water’s edge have thick, glossy leaves that turn the sea away. They do not fight the salt. They have learned how to live beside it.

It is the kind of intelligence we look for: not force, but adaptation.
